An incredible viewpoint in Yosemite, Glacier Point, is a must see when visiting the region.
It offers spectacular views of surrounding peaks, Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and Yosemite Falls.
However, in 2022, the road to Glacier Point, Glacier Point Road is closed to visitors due to development and construction. The road is expected to reopen in 2023 although work will still be in progress.
On the other hand, the Glacier Point panorama will remain accessible for the bravest hikers via these 3 trails (difficult/sport level) whose departures are in Yosemite Valley: Four Mile (16km AR), Panorama (27km AR), and Pohono (21km back).
Note that these works only impact Glacier Point, the other essential points will be easily accessible: the valley, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Myst Trail, El Capitan, Bridalvail Falls, Tioga Rd, Mariposa Grove, Wawona.
Practical information: The High Sierra is only 3h30 by car from San Francisco (Arrival at Yosemite National Park) or Los Angeles (Arrival at Sequoia National Park).
