When the thick blanket of snow melts from the Wasatch Mountains, they transform into a life-size painting. Starting in July, the ski slopes are covered with vibrant wildflowers: lupines, columbines, Indian paintbrushes… It’s a sight not to be missed, just 45 minutes from Salt Lake City.
The Wasatch Wildflower Festival is the perfect opportunity to enjoy this explosion of color with guided walks led by local enthusiasts, activities for the whole family, creative workshops (including the must-see flower crowns), and live music… all free of charge. The trails are suitable for all levels, from simple walks to more challenging hikes, while raising awareness of the importance of the watershed that sustains the region.
Where can you admire the flowers?
The festival takes place over four days at four resorts:
- Brighton Resort (July 12)
- Solitude Mountain Resort (July 13)
- Snowbird (July 19)
- Alta Ski Area (July 20)
To extend the experience: Lake Mary, Red Pine Lake, Butler Fork, Lake Blanche, and Lake Catherine offer beautiful flower-lined trails and unforgettable views.
