In 2027, Cincinnati will join the MICHELIN Guide American Great Lakes. Anonymous inspectors are already exploring the region in search of the restaurants that will make up the inaugural selection, bringing fresh attention to a food scene that has been attracting growing interest across the United States.
The news is also an invitation to see Cincinnati from a different angle. Here, food is woven into the city’s neighborhoods and tells a story of both heritage and renewal. In Over-the-Rhine, a historic district shaped by German immigration, restaurants, bars and breweries now line streets known for their remarkable 19th-century architecture. It is also home to Findlay Market, Ohio’s oldest continuously operated public market.
Alongside this strong local identity, a new generation of chefs is bringing together regional traditions, international influences and contemporary cooking. Already noticed by the American food press, that diversity is set to gain a new platform with the arrival of the MICHELIN Guide.
For travelers, it is one more reason to discover Cincinnati through its food.
