Summer in Mississippi is a season of outdoor adventure and relaxation, perfect for making unforgettable memories. Mississippi’s state parks create opportunities for fun, offering scenic hiking trails, serene lakes for paddling and shady picnic spots. Less than an hour away from Elvis Presley’s birthplace Tupelo, Tishomingo State Park offer great fun for families with swinging bridges, unique geological formations, and waterfalls. Enjoy wetland trails along the Gulf Islands National Seashore and head to Ship Island, a short ferry ride away, where you can swim in crystal-clear waters, explore the historic Fort Massachusetts, or simply unwind on pristine beaches. On a hot summer day, Mississippi also has waterfront dinner options  to cool off. The Blind Tiger restaurants in Biloxi and Bay Saint Louis are ideal spots to enjoy a tropical atmosphere at sunset, with breathtaking views of the Mississippi Sound. Countless other outdoor spaces offer the opportunity to mingle with the locals, such as Cathead Distillery in the state’s capital city Jackson, and The Coop, Hilton Hotel’s beautiful rooftop bar in Oxford.
