When winter settles in, Boston becomes a destination all its own, with twinkling neighborhoods, rooftops dusted with a fine layer of snow, open air ice rinks, cozy gourmet breaks indoors, and rooftop terraces transformed into igloos.
It is the perfect recipe for a getaway that feels both invigorating and comforting, bringing together strolls, culture, and wonderful places to linger. From immersive exhibitions and live shows to warm, welcoming spots to step into after a walk, the city reveals a different side of itself, more intimate and ideal for slowing down and savoring the season.
The highlight of the winter calendar is the new Boston Frostival, launched in late November to reimagine winter in the city, with signature moments running through the end of February. On the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a Ferris wheel from February 2 to 28, 2026 will lift visitors above the city for sweeping views from downtown to the waterfront.
At Copley Square, in the heart of Back Bay, from February 6 to 28, 2026, an immersive urban chalet inspired by the spirit of the Milan Winter Olympic Games will blend set design, a wintry atmosphere, and exclusive programming created for the occasion. To close out this inaugural edition, the Femme Fête Wine Festival on February 28, 2026 at the Cyclorama will invite guests to taste, connect, and learn through guided tastings, conversations, and workshops, celebrating the talents of women in wine.
