Rafting

On the Truckee River (North Lake Tahoe), rafting trips are available from May to September, with routes suitable for families. The rocky canyons and alpine landscapes provide an exceptional backdrop. Further Southwest, the Merced River, designated a National Wild and Scenic River, offers class 3 to 4 rapids at the gateway to Yosemite National Park.

Via Ferrata

In the Eastern Sierra, guided routes allow you to climb the cliffs. Several routes of varying difficulty offer an accessible alpine experience and spectacular views. Near Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Via Ferrata allows you to explore previously inaccessible walls using ladders and suspension bridges.

Horseback riding or mule trekking

Around Bishop and Mammoth Lakes, trails allow you to discover the wild landscapes of the John Muir Wilderness and surrounding national forests. Near Sequoia National Park, Riata Ranch also offers horseback riding for all skill levels.

Biking or e-biking

To the West, in Oakhurst, rental companies organize guided tours and bike rides to Yosemite. In South Lake Tahoe, numerous bike routes allow you to explore beaches, forests, and historic sites by bike or e-bike.
