Back Bay is one of Boston’s must-see neighborhoods, famous for its typical red sandstone houses perfectly aligned along its long residential streets, its many shops and cafes, as well as its iconic monuments.
These include Trinity Church, an American architectural masterpiece, and the Boston Public Library, one of the first libraries in the United States, founded in 1848.
Nearby, art galleries and designer boutiques abound on the very chic Newbury Street.
To take in one of the most beautiful views of the city, head to the View Boston observation deck on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower.
The Back Bay neighborhood is also criss-crossed by a long green corridor, Commonwealth Avenue Mall, which leads to the Boston Public Garden, a lovely park reminiscent of St James’s in London.
