An iconic volcano and a familiar silhouette visible from Seattle, Mount Rainier National Park captivates with the power of its landscapes and the quiet charm of its mountain villages. A true natural sanctuary, it shelters shimmering glaciers, dense forests, and vast alpine meadows that transform with the seasons.

From Enumclaw, the gateway to Sunrise, a scenic road leads to the highest point accessible by car, revealing sweeping views over glaciers and alpine meadows.

Further south, Ashford opens the way to Paradise, where wildflower fields in summer contrast with the pristine white of snowy winters. Here, nature is experienced intensely: open-air hikes, contemplative pauses, photography sessions, and snowshoeing excursions shape the rhythm of the days.

For a change of pace, the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad offers a timeless journey aboard a historic train winding through forested landscapes. The route continues to Packwood, a quieter side of the park, ideal for a peaceful immersion between wildlife watching and a visit to the nearby Northwest Trek Wildlife Park.

As for accommodation, lodges and mountain cabins such as Alexander’s Lodge, Mountain Meadows Inn, or the Historic Hotel Packwood extend this nature-filled escape in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
