In addition to being an attractive and dynamic tourist destination, Denver, capital of Colorado, is a perfect basecamp for a day trip to experience some of the state’s most iconic landscapes, its picturesque mountain towns and a variety of outdoor and cultural activities, all within a 2-hour drive from the city.

Also in Golden, the American Mountaineering Museum explores the history of mountaineering, from the Colorado Fourteeners to Everest, and is ideally located on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park.

In Colorado Springs, visitors can take a segway tour of Garden of Gods, fly over the surrounding area in a hot-air balloon or discover the magnificent scenery of Pikes Peak from the top of a zip-line or aboard a Jeep with Adventures Out West. Colorado Adventure Center in Idaho Springs offers eight ziplines, a ropes course with over 60 challenging elements, as well as white water rafting trips on Clear Creek in the summertime.
