The West, South and East entrances, as well as almost all roads of the Yellowstone National Park, have been closed to normal traffic since November 1st.

As usual, the park closes its roads at this time of year to prepare them for the winter season, as well as the snowmobile and snowcoach travels, which begin on December 15.

The only roads open year-round are located between the North entrance at Gardiner (Montana) and the northeast entrance at Cooke City/Silver Gate (Montana) via Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Junction and Lamar Valley.

More information on visiting the park in winter here.

All communities close to Yellowstone are open year-round, and local businesses offer a wide range of opportunities in autumn and winter. For more information on Montana communities (Gardiner, West Yellowstone, Cooke City and Silver Gate), please visit www.visitmt.com.

For more information about the Wyoming communities (Cody and Jackson), please visit www.wyomingtourism.org.

And if your trip to the park takes you through Idaho, visit www.visitidaho.org.
