Located just 20 minutes from Downtown Memphis, five times larger than Central Park in New York City, Shelby Farms Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States! It extends over more than 18km². For cyclists, the Shelby Farms Greenline offers over 10 miles of uninterrupted roadway, connecting the park to Midtown Memphis.
For adventurers, head towards the Go Ape Treetop course while water sports enthusiasts can rent kayaks, canoes, paddles or pedal boats to enjoy one of the many bodies of water.
Families must is the stop at Woodland Discovery Playground, which offers children a creative experience including six play “nests” and innovative structures.
The park is so large that it is home to a resident herd of… bisons! After entering the park from Walnut Grove Road, you will find them across from Hyde Lake!
Shelby Farms Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
