The Juke Joint Festival is Mississippi’s must-see event in April.

This blues festival showcases Delta culture by presenting over 100 blues songs, including many classics from Mississippi.

During the day, dozens of bands perform in every corner of the city at the same time. At night, the music plays in Clarksdale’s juke joints. This year, after such a difficult time, the festival will be dedicated to all the musicians who died during the pandemic.

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the release of « Jailhouse Rock, » Graceland is hosting a special event on April 9: a dinner followed by a screening of the film and a concert where visitors will be able to dance to the King’s greatest hits performed by guitarist and vocalist Brad Birkedahl.

During the day, Graceland will be giving away 1,000 « Jailhouse Rock/ Treat Me Nice » 45 rpm records to visitors.

This year’s Beale Street Festival, which starts on April 29 in Memphis, will take place at the Liberty Park Fairgrounds. It will host world-renowned artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Wayne, The Smashing Pumpkins or The Foo Fighters.
