Surrounded by forests and mountains, Seattle is proudly referred to as the “Emerald city”. Nature is never far away from the city, and a simple ferry crossing is sometimes enough to get away from the urban uproar and find the quietness of an island.

Among the Puget Sound islands, Argosy Cruises has launched a new fast ferry service to Blake Island Marine State Park. This 1,127-acre island, accessible only by boat, is located less than 30 minutes from the Seattle waterfront. It boasts 5 miles of beaches, 7.5 miles of biking trails, as many hiking trails and features stunning views of Seattle and Mount Rainier.

Whether you’re in the mood for clam digging on the beach, paddling, diving, hiking, biking or observing beautiful flora and fauna, Blake Island invites you to slow your pace and reconnect with nature for a few hours or even overnight, for those who wish to stay camping.

Departures from Seattle every hour from 9am to 6pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Ticket: 29$ per person, round-trip.
