Lake Tahoe received its first significant snowfall on November 1st, and ski resorts were able to open before their estimated opening date, some even two weeks early.

Winter season is now here in full force, having even more snowfall in December and January, creating perfect ski terrain.

With 15 world-class ski resorts surrounding the lake to choose from, people staying on the south shore of Lake Tahoe tend to prefer to ride at Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kirkwood Mountain Resort, and Sierra at Tahoe. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy snowmobiling, ice skating, sledding, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, and many other winter activities.

After a long day on the mountain, visitors will need a frosty beverage. Why not unwind with apres-ski beer at one of our local breweries? The art of craft beer has taken over the nation, and Lake Tahoe has joined the ranks. New breweries have been popping up all over town in recent years, displaying unique taps.
